Restylane ® and Perlane® are composed of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in your skin. Hyaluronic acid normally provides fullness and elasticity to our skin. As your skin matures, it looses hyaluronic acid causing a loss of volume and opportunity for wrinkles and deeper folds to appear. Because Restylane ® and Perlane® are non-animal based fillers; they do not require pretesting in the skin and have a very low side-effect profile. The products are clear gels and biodegradable.
Restylane ® or Perlane® is placed with a very fine needle below the skin to help restore youthful contour. Perlane® has larger gel particles and is injected deeper into the skin to correct larger folds while Restylane ® is used for finer lines and lip augmentation and/or enhancement.
